There's a Luigi Mangione musical. It's campy, it's silly, and it's such a wild success in San Francisco that it might get a national tour.

Before I want to see it. Does the play maintain the fact that Luigi is only alleged at this point? Or do they just assume he did the adjusting?

Luigi Mangione probably is some random patsy the state chose. But he might represent in the play the real killer, whose identity we’ll probably never know.

They could have called his character John Doe but this is entertainment, not reality.

The way you worded this it sounds like you’re speculating? Do you know the play and how it represents it?

Your explanation could work as well as there are other ways I could see it represented fairly, but what does the play actually do?

In a related article they mention the play is a few prisoners including Luigi reflecting on their crimes in a comical absurdist manner. The play assumes Luigi is guilty, which is a false assumption as he is literally not.

What does the court do in cases where the whole state knows about the trial? I would assume it would be hard to find unbiased people.

Well, I’m sure it’s about the person who killed healthcare CEO, whoever that person is, not necessarily Luigi.

Not everyone can cater to your delicate sensibilities. Bad things happen in real life. Avoiding those themes in at would be boring and naive.
