      2. Drying paint may be better
      3. Better than nothing
      4. Kinda meh
      5. Enjoyable Somewhat good
      6. Quite Good Enjoyable
      7. Good
      8. Very Good
      9. Fantastic
      10. Watch it or die trying

what is the difference between somewhat good and enjoyable? and between enjoyable and good? you illustrated problem with 10 point scale nicely.

Somewhat good and enjoyable…kinda your point.

Good and enjoyable? I can enjoy things that aren’t really good. Example: Whole shitty movies fandom.

if you enjoy them, they are good. that is like whole point of a movie to be enjoyed by the audience. yeah, they might not be for everyone, but that is true for any movie.

the point is, either the movie is good, or it sucks, and when it sucks, i (with most other people it seems) don’t want to spend time thinking about if it is 3 or 4 out of 10 movie, that is just not important.

there is a reason why most ratings operate on a 5 point scale.

i guess I’m my mind “quite good” is better than “good”

like “quite” is a synonym to “very” in this context as I understand it. maybe to a lesser degree, but it’s certainly a positive modifier. i would use a similar scale if those two were swapped.

maybe that’s just my dumb american vocab or something, but i would be very confused by that scale as it stands.

          • Yeah, you’re using “quite” incorrectly here. Add the other person said, “quite good” means “really good” or “very good.” You want something like “somewhat good.” If it were me, I would change 5 to “decent” and 6 to “enjoyable” since “enjoyable” has a much more positive connotation than I’d expect from the middle of the scale.
