This is a weird world for a long time American supporter of Israel and Jews, generally speaking, to live in. Anyway, I’ve flipped 180°. I could not care less if Israel is burned to the ground and America can fuck off with them.

The physical world is too fast, relies on the speed of human brains calculating a million variables instantly, not mere pattern matching. See how hard it is to teach a robot to catch a ball. You have to input all the physics where a human doesn’t even consciously think on the problem.

We humans are best-in-class at pattern matching, but we often get it wrong and AI amplifies those mistakes.

AI can be great at certain tasks, but we have to be cognizant of how that works.

I’ve got 20 watches and only ever change the Swatch batteries. They’re laughably inefficient. One is an old smart watch, but it needs charged daily and I’m not up to all that.

It’s too damned useful. About every day I check Gemini and ChatGPT for a word or phrase I can’t remember, input some crap and out pops what I was looking for. I use if for a chunk of code I can’t get my head around. It’s the next Google and everyone wants a piece.

OTOH, I do see a sharp downturn in investment as things shake out. Like to dot.com bubble, there will be winners and losers, but you’re spot on. Investors aren’t spazzing out on every single opportunity. Still, gonna be some losers.
