  • Paywall it for short term gain, at the expense of long term viewership growth.

Making a company worse for increased short term revenue, at the cost of customer retention, product quality, etc. causing increased turnover which further compounds all the other steps. Is a common issue among all modern companies.

In short, there was a shift in MBA education a while back that includes a bunch of lies-by-omission and misrepresented data. Meaning that the only thing on their mind when they graduate, is to please investors at any all costs, including company longevity.

  • I’m pretty sure you can trace the management downturn of American companies back to a change in MBA curriculum.

You can see when they started getting hired after the shift. Where they were taught that as long as your department is doing well and has positive numbers, LITERALLY nothing else matters. The company could be crashing and burning around you, you might even be causing it, but as long as those numbers are going up, you’ll quickly get hired at another company. Because every single iota of their education is about pleasing investors who only care about money now, and not potential money in a few years.

  • Yeah, it’s very obvious that some of the people responding here don’t interact much with non-tech people, and they have DEFINITELY never worked IT.

Most people aren’t interested in learning the more intricate things. And if you try to force them, they’re not going to get more interested as they learn, because they literally are not interested in tech. They want to accomplish a task, if that takes a bunch of learning just for one thing, they’ll go a different route, or pay someone else to do it for them.

  • at risk of not continuing

Clarifiction: It was canceled over two years ago. They finished it as a 12 part comic book series, that released the last issue a year ago.

Although it’s important to note that if you don’t find the first season of TNG engaging, skip to season three and then go back later. (Many people recommend going straight to season three after the double episode opening in the first)

  • It’s been a while since I did that sort of thing, but from what I remember: The vast majority of “night vision” cameras are active IR, or sensitive enough that proper reflective surfaces trigger activity if they change a large enough area.

And the type of imagery these searches are looking for, would most likely be fooled by a couple of reflective strips blowing in the wind. Although I might recommend using strips of that reflective stuff on safety vests, that way you’d really “poison the pool”.

    EDIT:

Don’t tape the strips across the street. Hang them nearer the camera so they occupy a larger area of the footage and triggers more easily. Although not on/close to the lens, that will make them notice too soon. You can even just tape a stick on top of the camera that goes up like a fishing rod, with some strands of fishing wire to reflect light in the moisture that condenses(basically a fake spiderweb).

  • The “not interested” button, it does nothing!

When combined with “don’t recommend channel” and removing videos from your watch history, it works for content. Unless you actually partake in related content. For example: If you watch political content, you will regularly get recommended stuff opposite to what you like, regardless of many times you click “not interested”.

Although it should be mentioned that “not interested” does literally nothing when it comes to not seeing shorts in general, for that you need an extension, app or ublock filter that let you hide them.
