Move fast and break things is not good when government is involved.
There really is an XKCD for everything.
But it’s okay for Goldman Sachs to demand that their workers augment their tasks with AI? Either it’s a tool that they are happy working with and incorporating into their business, or its not.

The irony of streaming services
Smart song and game choice.
Gonna need some elaboration on that last point. You’re saying having appropriate tools for the job and the difficulty of the job have no relationship? Are you against right to repair? It seems implicit in your comments.
You’re not necessarily streaming video on YT music, just audio.
Chiaki and Moonlight are both great solutions if your Wifi signal is strong and your host device has a wired connection in my experience. Do people with good internet up speeds set it up to stream from WAN? This would be equivalent to that IMO.
Interesting, I had a lot of other things going on at the time so didn’t follow the issue as close as I would now. At least we’re finally getting FTTN transitioning to FTTP at the moment, 10 years too late.
Here I am WFH just fine on a 25/8 Mbps 4G cellular internet connection though. I do wish I had better connection but unfortunately not possible in my situation.
I don’t recall labor not wanting to finish it? My recollection was that it was the libs not wanting to go through with it and that’s how we got fibre to the node after they were elected.
I get that running fibre all the way to every premises in rural areas like Alice Springs would have been ridiculous though.
The memes are better in the prequels
I had a pixel 5 for 4 years and this wasn’t my personal experience.
While I completely agree with you about the absence of one-liners and meme comments, and even more left leaning community, there’s still that strong element of “gotcha” in discussions. Also tonnes of people not reading an article before commenting (at a better rate than Reddit probably), and a generally even more doomer attitude is common here.
What’s the difference between Reddit and Lemmy culturally? I thought that the people who moved over here held opinions fairly typical of Reddit.
Shares somehow up today
I wouldn’t challenge this view for Musk, Bezos, Trump. But Zuck gives me more of a “reformed (now married) incel that comes from an otherwise normal family environment vibe”. His marriage seems at least typical, likely loving etc.
His product happens to be the most harmful for democracy and I consider him equal for worst of the bunch as a result, but I think it’s explained by corporate/personal greed and being out of touch with reality.
Even then, you know that these glasses are going to be priced in such a way that is subsidized by data harvesting somehow.
Yep. I think the reason the AUR on Arch hosts a lot of unmaintained packages that cause breaking changes at least in my experience. OpenSUSE TW basically is the sweet spot, though I’ve had one or two bad updates I’ve always been able to roll back with Snapper.
I wish TW was more mainstream a distro, as it’s solves problems people complain about a lot with Linux (i.e. stable releases not supporting new hardware, rolling releases breaking randomly).
I genuinely believe the age of the distro hurts its appeal for Linux youtubers to spruke the later distro.
