So throw the gun in the river afterwards, just like always?
Jesus I can’t think of anything I would want less than a Teams metaverse. Although I do have a macabre fascination as to how they could make the product even worse.
Yes it’s rather like Pablo Escobar going “don’t do drugs kids”.
So don’t call them if you’ve got the flu or anything.
There’s no way that the phone network has enough fidelity to be able to accurately transmit your voice anyway. People who sound similar to you will be able to get in.
Yeah he’s invented the webcam, I suppose we merely have to be thankful that it isn’t another train.
Oh he seriously needs to shut up.
He spends his entire time now telling everybody how a product, he is insisting on building, is going to kill us all.
You would have thought that if you were building a doomsday bomb but didn’t want to die it’d be pretty easy to just stop building said bomb. But nope everyday he continues making it more and more destructive.
You know that they only are prepared to offer cyber security experts minimum wage.
I was literally looking at this yesterday, if they doubled what they are offering it would still be well short of an entry-level wage in the private sector. Up to a point you can get away with it and rely on “patriotism” to fill the difference but not to this extent.
If openai can find a use for the government that’ll be swell.
They tend to get it under everybody’s feet otherwise.
It’s because these people don’t have a clue how AI actually works. They think it’s like a human intelligence and that writing something in all caps is in some way going to give it more emphasis. They’re trying to reason with something that has zero self-awareness.
“Vibe coding makes software creation accessible to everyone, entirely through natural language,” Replit explains, and on social media promotes its tools as doing things like enabling an operations manager “with 0 coding skills” who used the service to create software that saved his company $145,000
Yeah if you believe that you’re part of the problem.
I’m prepared to accept that Vibe coding might work in certain circumstances but I’m not prepared to accept that someone with zero code experience can make use of it. Claude is pretty good for coding but even it makes fairly dumb mistakes, if you point them out it fixes them but you have to be a competent enough programmer to recognise them otherwise it’s just going to go full steam ahead.
Vibe coding is like self-driving cars, it works up to a point, but eventually it’s going to do something stupid and drive to a tree unless you take hold of the wheel and steer it back onto the road. But these vibe codeing idiots are like Tesla owners who decide that they can go to sleep with self-driving on.
In my experience firefighters are alright. Cops like shooting people but firefighters just want to put fires out and otherwise be the hero, they want nothing more than to be pictured saving a cat for a house fire. If you want to be the hero you can’t be the villain, cops don’t care though because they get off on bullying people.
It should be renamed to, London plus all surrounding bits of land that we don’t care about. It’s a bit of a mouthful but it would be a more accurate name
I am not really convinced that otherwise mentally healthy people have a breakdown because of AI. People already teeting on the edge of a mental crisis sure, but pretty much anything could have pushed them over the edge.
Normally it’s Facebook so I guess this is a nice change
Would you rather be MegaHitler or give me this plane ticket for $3?
I do not understand what the hell the AI is supposed to even do. Like great okay so let’s say they get to the point that it’s trained and can do the job of a human then what. If you replace everyone with AI then no one will have any jobs and no one will have any money so who are the AI businesses going to sell products too?
Good God what an absolutely ridiculous article, I would be ashamed to write that.
Most fundamentally of course is the fact that the laws are robotics are not intended to work and are not designed to be used by future AI systems. I’m sure Asimov would be disappointed to say the least to find out that some people haven’t got the message.
A single atom of gold is far too small for any photon in the visible spectrum to interact with.
A single atom of gold is 0.2 nanometres (a nanometre is an incredibly small thing and a gold atom isn’t even half of 1% of that), meanwhile the wavelength of blue light (The smallest wavelength of visible light) is a hulking 380 nanometres. No matter how much you zoom in you would never see anything a single atom is just too small to interact with light.
Open AI started it though. They published the original research paper that made all of this possible.
