So the old init.d system was better? Come on people, let’s stop infighting. I have zero preference on init systems. You know why? Because they’re just plumbing. Stop this nonsense. Do I click on an init system? Do I use the init system to check my email? Or play games? No. I know poettering can be controversial, but let’s just move on. Run freebsd if you’re so butt hurt.
As someone that has run Linux as my primary desktop OS since 1998, I can confirm this as 100% accurate.
I’m not trying to be a 1-upper, but you need to also include the power the computer and CPU use as well. Not to mention the age of the outlet and how many times a plug has been inserted/removed from it. The contact resistance can be pretty bad depending on how old the outlet is.
Good luck plugging that into an outlet without tripping a fuse under load.
My wife has a 2016 Honda Odyssey, and having grown up working on cars because my dad was a mechanic, I was shocked to learn that there is no transmission fluid dip stick. It’s considered a closed system and never needs to have the fluid changed, allegedly.
PEBKAC.
I’m sure it does, I was just being facetious.
So they can use Linux in the name, just not at the beginning? We’re so stupid. Can they do Windows Subsystem for Coke? Or Windows Subsystem for McDonald’s? Or Windows Subsystem for MacOs?
Good gravy.
I still will never understand why it’s not called Linux Subsystem for Windows.
I loved that video where Mark Robert praised Anduril. Same energy.
When I first heard about this back in my early 20s, it radicalized me. ACAB.
He’s such a fucking dork.
I have to use Teams for work and it is absolute dog shit.
No shit.
