Let them wear watches.
The government’s job is to regulate sex toys so that all insertables have a flared end. MAGA wants to end all sex toy regulation. We should definitely protest this, and wave our dildos proudly.
It would be under NASA, but the argument is moot, since it wouldn’t happen under a MAGA Nazi administration. It will have to wait until Americans take back our government. Then we can nationalize Space X, confiscate the DOGE Goblin’s fortune, and deport him back to South Africa.
SpaceX should be nationalized. We paid for it, it’s ours.
How’s the view with your head in the sand?
Between AI and Robotics, we will likely have a permanently unemployed segment of close to 50%, or even more, within the next decade.
Not everyone will be able to be retrained to be a robotics engineer or AI programmer, and many, many jobs that are considered entry-level will disappear. Imagine a world where most fast food and retail workers are unemployed.
When 40% of America is unemployed, the government will be faced with 2 options - Universal Basic Income, or reducing the population by 40%. Which solution will each party embrace, and how will they accomplish their objectives?
I’m a huge fan of Yamaha guitars. Great workmanship at a very affordable price, and if you buy used you can get them super cheap. My best guitar, an FG730S, which plays and sounds as good as any expensive gourmet brands, was only $102 at auction. I even bought another one as a backup. Used Yamaha guitars are the best deal on the market.
First of all, America is not “the most violent empire on the planet.” America has the capability of being the most violent nation, but at the moment, our potential for violence is being eclipsed by other nations who are actively employing the same levels of violence that we are capable of. Nothing we are currently doing comes close to the violence that Russia and Israel are employing.
And yes, America is the only nation to have deployed nuclear weapons against human targets, but that was 80 years ago, and ended the worst war in human history. After demonstrating its power, just the presence of nuclear weapons in a nation’s arsenal has been enough to keep the most powerful, well-armed, violent nations (including America) from going too far.
We no longer live in a world where our biggest fear would be the government controlling high level corporations and their operators.
We now live in a world controlled by Sociopathic Oligarchs who can afford to create government level technology. Right now it’s mostly tourism rockets and satellites, but now we see Skum weaponizing that technology, and/or using it as a bargaining chip. He has cut off Starlink in a war zone to benefit the county who defers to him, but is openly hostile to the US, and now he’s threatening to cut off our access to the space station. He is using tech that WE PAY FOR with government contracts and grants, to pursue his own diplomacy, for his own benefit, and against our interests.
Eventually, someone will start building and stockpiling actual weapons, perhaps even atomics. Then we will be asking why someone didn’t step in and stop them before they became a bonafide threat.
We paid for Skum’s technology, and he gets to control it as a courtesy. Just the threat of using it against us should be enough reason to declare him a national security threat, confiscate his American-taxpayer financed businesses, and imprison him.
That still exists, they run TV ads all the time. The ads even have print that says that someone listens to the callers and types out what they say.
No, look at the face. Clearly a manikin.
Weren’t the Beagle Boys a Disney property?
Yep, this should be standard practice.
And we can call individual messages Xits.
Nah, the bell bottoms, the heart shaped belt buckle, the clunky shoes, the decor, the micro-bikini, etc., all screams 60s.
When the composer of that song died, I read in his obituary that he had called that song a “non-stop money-making machine,” because it generated royalties so consistently for decades.
Looks like Apple is balking at paying the required bribe.
Yeah, he was a larger than life character, and the end of the company was spectacular. Most companies end with a whimper, his ended with an explosion.
I have a little personal anecdote about the end of DeLorean Motor Cars. At the end, I was living in Cleveland, OH, where DeLorean’s brother had a Cadillac dealership, which also sold DeLoreans, of course.
When the company crashed, the government, or the bank, or the court, or somebody, was coming to take all the cars that were sitting in the factory parking lot in Detroit. The local news caught a helicopter shot of a long line of DeLoreans driving out of the lot, and down the road in a long line. They didn’t bother to follow them.
A few days later, it was reported that all the surplus DeLoreans were missing, and DeLorean was hiding them somewhere, and they showed the footage of the cars driving off.
A few days after that, I was taking one of my favorite shortcuts through Lakewood, the suburb where DeLorean Cadillac was located. My shortcut was a small road/alley, with far less traffic and lights, which went behind the businesses along the main road.
One of those businesses was DeLorean Cadillac, with a big parking lot behind the dealership. I’d passed that lot many times, and it was always a mix of Caddys and DeLoreans, but this time I saw that it was FULL of nothing but DeLoreans, packed in like sardines. I had no doubt that these were the missing DeLoreans that the authorities were searching for.
So, of course I notified the authorities where they could find the cars, right? Fuck NO. DeLorean didn’t seem like a bad guy, just a major dreamer who got desperate. I always kind of admired him. So I kept my mouth shut, and made the authorities find the cars without my help.
This is also why if you hit the lottery, you should take the discounted upfront cash payout, and not get it paid in an annual annuity for 20 years. You never know if the government is suddenly going become moral about gambling, and cancel all lottery payments.
Take the money and run.
Every time I see this Nazi Aristocrat, I am reminded that I have to sharpen my guillotine.
