Your prudery and moralism bores the hell out of me https://randomrantdispenser.neocities.org/rant04-2024-07-18

I didn’t follow the post to see the ratio, but I guess point 2 of rule 2 supports it… although I really don’t get the “feel safe” part, are posters stalking other users and waiting for them outside of their houses or something like that for blocking people you don’t like not being enough?
I hope people don’t feel unsafe by Joan Cornellà comics too.

So, upon reading further, this is not about watermarks over the content, you are just mad artists sign their work… you haven’t realized yet, but you are a douchebag. My vote is to just ban whoever crops out artist names (or post an image without it and don’t attribute in the title or comments) because that’s a douchebag thing to do. If you hate authors just ask ChatGPT to make you comics, those won’t be signed.

Example of watermarked comic? I don’t think I’ve seen one before
oh, this is great!
You can always find new instances and causes to defend, like, just the other day I saw a post on lemmy with someone saying using words like idiot, stupid, crazy, etc, is ableism, and once I met some straight edge guys that were boycotting sugar because they said it was a drug… I mean, they managed to top someone, the hard part is to top them, but I’m sure someone will do.

I don’t think I watched the blackface episode, but if it was an accident that caused a misunderstanding (basic comedy trope) the joke was on people being over sensitive and raging without knowing and/or purposely ignoring context of a situation (I could as easily say “if you want to do something racist, just claim it was a dark elf”). What was being criticized there became the norm, and the consequences are in this thread - people can’t say the name of that Agatha Christie’s work in the comments, nor you can have a dark elf in Community, because context doesn’t matter.
editing a day later: This was a half-assed argument, the shows did it just because it was funny. In all the cases people jumped to conclusions that were completely fair, people should be shooed for doing what the main characters were doing, but it was funny because it wasn’t on purpose, they got in a bad situation by mistake. However, the critique on this kinda of humor, and also satires and parodies that humorously references problematic stuff, because “offensive” is absolute value, is what led to “people can’t say the name of that Agatha Christie’s work in the comments, nor you can have a dark elf in Community”.

That flag episode the joke was that everything he was doing was taken the wrong way. He had accidentally set on fire a flag that was behind him and tried to put out the fire, then someone shouts “Hey, there’s a guy stomping the Puerto Rican flag!” and he is chased by a mob…
It’s like that Monk episode where he has to shake hands with a lot of people from a group and the last one is black, and right after shaking hands with the black person he cleans his hands with rubbing alcohol, so everyone thinks he is racist and everything he does in the episode just makes him look even worse - because it was taken out of context (he is a germophobe, he cleans his hands with rubbing alcohol after touching anything and anyone).

What’s wrong with the last one? Seems like a pretty standard critique of “science” as evil destroying humanity. In Brave New World they had reservations for the savages who still had religious beliefs, and it was a touristic attraction.
Not sure if a troll or just incredible brainwashed… try to pick a history book some time, because in Spain you had communists, and they LITERALLY decided to fight the anarchists instead of the fascists. The bolsheviks simply decided to outlaw all Spanish socialist organizations (it wasn’t the other way around) and sabotaged the antifascist resistance, and it’s the anarchists that enabled the fascists!? Fuck off mate.
I was used to commies saying the Nazis were going to kill the anarchists in Ukraine eventually anyway, so there was nothing wrong with the Red Army killing them first (after selling them to the Germans in exchange of a train ticket), but this stupid and shameful historical revisionism about the Spanish civil war is new to me, what a fucking deranged cult those tankies.
ps: Don’t bother coming back with walls of text. Not gonna read nor reply.
The symbolism gave me the same impression (and I was going to argue something about anarcho-communism having nothing to do with bolshevik bullshit), but then I checked the site and the author uses orange for fascism and has positive stuff about communism.
Oh, because of the flag I thought this was a satire of anarcho-communism, since commie states massacred anarchists

Yep, hate when I want to follow some project and they link you to X, Reddit and Discord lol
plot twist: it isn’t the same guy in every panel.
You know that thing on video games that stuff is only rendered when the player is looking at it? A simulated universe could probably save a lot of energy by implementing something like that, like particles behaving like waves until observed.
A simulated universe would probably have some hard caps introduced to reduce computational needs, like some minimum temperature things can reach or max velocity.

Amelia wasn’t AI-generated, she was literally goverment-generated for a stupid game saying you should mind your own business instead of watching and sharing content online or you can be arrested (people are just using AI to create more art with the character, but the character was created by the government). In the game the content was anti-immigration stuff and Amelia the girl trying to get the main character to get involved, so some dumbass just gave them a waifu lol
The game however basically tells you have to choose between being a racist or accepting 1984-surveillance (which UK is already doing anyway). Really great government propaganda.
In one of the tests my cousin, with very Latina facial features, took in the USA, she was asked how many generations of her family had a college degree, and she said four. They took her to another room to ask if she understood the question.

Are they sure it isn’t the pastor themselves that are trying to increase their output of incendiary sermons asking for donations by adding AI-made sermons?
Stonetoss is a piece of shit, it’s probably hard to even find a comic of his that isn’t against the instance rules. Jago I have only seen what was posted on the community and it was just some stuff to roll your eyes at the sexist inferences (and some other stuff wasn’t even bad), but some other stuff of his that were posted here on this thread are blatantly transphobic, so fuck that guy too - however, not feeling unsafe because someone posted a dumb comic on the internet, especially when it’s not hateful content like what has been shared on the community, is not a privilege, it’s your choice to feel unsafe - because how the fuck anyone in this community can even be a threat? If you let people get into your head that easily, you gonna have an awful time.
edit: Never mind, I just stumbled upon a video and saw other people using the sentence “feel unsafe” and I realized it doesn’t have anything to do with actual safety, you are just saying you feel uncomfortable but being dramatic about it.
