This is the terrifying part. Ads have become so normal in everyday life that people see nothing wrong with wasting their life away being marketed to by corporations. How much of someone’s life is wasted hearing their existence isn’t good enough but if they’d only buy some product they could be happy?

And yet people are fine with:

People should have basic cooking knowledge
People should have basic financial knowledge

I think you’re right on this. People aren’t moving away from MS because of their obnoxious behaviour. They’re moving to alternate form factors and dealing with Apple’s and Google’s obnoxious behaviour instead. People are willing to put up with a metric ton of bullshit so they don’t have to actually do anything for themselves.

That’s a sign of toxic culture, not of men wanting to be defined by what value they can bring.

They already treat their workers like humanoid robots, so this tracks.

Yeah, an intercom between you, your kids, and Amazon.

That’s exactly what he’s been doing with all his businesses. And it works. Tesla is still hugely overvalued as a company.

You’re making the mistake in assuming that what’s popular must be the best/easiest. That’s definitely not true. People don’t pick Windows because it’s easier to use than other OSes. They pick it because that’s what they’re used to. It takes a lot of inertia to get over what people are comfortable with and get them to use something different.

That already exists. Do a search on the web and follow someone’s steps. You don’t need an AI to do it. An actual intelligence has already created a guide for you.

Specifically Mint Cinnamon. It has a UI that is very similar to what people are used to in the Windows world.

That’s the thing that bothers me about all these companies now. My data is my data, not theirs. They shouldn’t even be allowed to collect it, let alone sell it or give it to anyone who wants it.
