Im on the fence, although I want it to burst, I also think AI has enough use cases for it not to be a bubble. It’s just that all those use cases are evil, hence why I fear it might not burst.
Only positive change google has made in the last decade
It simply saw a superior technology and decided to attack.
More like throattron
10 assassinations of relatively innocent people simultaneously. Straight out of Walter white’s playbook when he went full villain.
Gave me brave brew world vibes since they are essentially raising them up to be the foot soldier class. It would be even easier to draft them
I actually wouldn’t mind that. An ad blocking method that just plays ads in the background with the sound muted and not visible on screen.
If google only lets me stream the content I want when I stream content I don’t want, that’s fine, I just don’t want to watch it as it’s my eye balls, not theirs so it’s my choice at the end of the day
AI: always Indian
I’m imagining the fifth panel is him discovering depression.
Same as the comic, you got to utilize the stem and the leaf, or maybe give it a worm or something
While I agree, in terms of actual streaming performance and the player, YouTube hasn’t made that worse yet and I hope they never do.
YouTube is very impressive from a technical perspective, regardless of the user experience.
A free user viewing an ad is profitable though, so I would say that’s what the other streaming services get wrong, there is no free option even though their lowest option usually has ads.
If it was a misunderstanding, wouldn’t he apologize instead of standing his ground?
I once accidentally touched a women’s boob, I didn’t insist it was an accident, I just apologized instantly…
Brenda got wooshed by a snake.
The story teller is just using good props.
There is an obvious answer here that both the author and the people in this thread are ignoring.
Driving as a transportation method is a high risk/cost high flexibility/comfort solution.
Pretty much everyone who has accepted driving as their transportation method understands that it’s not the safest way, so a lot of drivers are always willing to take a little bit more risk to save money or something like that.
A better question is, why are we so okay with accepting such high risks for transportation. The human mind is terrible at risk assessment so I think it’s just a culture thing that car accidents are a part of life.
Maybe, but even if that’s not an issue, there is a bigger one:
Law of diminishing returns.
So to double performance, it takes much more than double of the data.
Right now LLMs aren’t profitable even though they are more efficient compared to using more data.
All this AI craze has taught me is that the human brain is super advanced given its performance even though it takes the energy of a light bulb.
Honestly, if it was all like the funniest ads of all time, it wouldn’t be that bad.
This is how I know AI doesn’t really work. Give it a real use case in the physical world, it can’t be almost there, either it passes or fails.
People should really appreciate deterministic algorithm cause they could automate things in the real world
