Harper’s too.

Gotta nuke something. 🤷

You ever serve on a grand jury? It’s a fucking joke. No defense attorney, only the prosecution. Not technically allowed to consider the potential sentencing if eventually taken to trial and found guilty. My grand jury peers had basically no discussion before greenlighting every indictment. There’s no justice in grand jury indictments… Except the sandwich guy.

Marketplace killed our local Craigslist. So thats why I occasionally click in. I still check out craigslist for the nothing thats posted there.

Nah. That’s Canada. They even have their own MAGAts/deep south in Alberta.

“Dont be a dick” is a fine philosophy.
I dont know how to solve the problem of not wanting rules but people being outrageous dicks to the detriment of the overall community. I simply don’t like rules, and i like the people who enact them and their lackies that enforce them even less than the rules themselves. Dicks be dickin tho, and that always sucks a big one.
Anyhoo… Thanks to all of the artists who share their content here. I very much enjoy it. I do my own little single panel comic, but im afraid to share.

I’m opposed to rules, but I support this philosophy. It would be a nice request to make of everyone who shares something.
Eh? US chiming in… In the last week I bought a 64gb usb flash drive for $15 and a 12tb usb external hdd for $189.
Fittingly, the flash drive was for Lubuntu iso, and the hdd was because my other external harddrive was exfat formatted and I didnt want to lose all my TBs of media by reformatting to ext4. (Now my minipc diy media/file server has 18tb… Not a bad scenario.)
Anyhoo…the external SSDs were super expensive at the store, but I didnt need that. If I were expanding my gaming setup, id be looking at external ssd.

Y’all are gonna end up with a Pizza Gate situation. We need real leaders who will hire an effective DOJ to investigate and charge the monsters in a timely but just manner. We need a new viable party.

Holy wah… #2 is a deal breaker for sure. So sad.

There was a guy in Texas who thought a big tobacco company would settle out without showing, but instead he got counter sued to the tune of millions. That man? Rusty Shackleford.
There’s a good documentary about it.

Sounds expensive.

Seo ruined search engines like a decade ago at least. It cant be blamed on present day AI.
Present day AI sucks ass, too.

I tend to think that – for myself for sure but probably most other people – after a decade plus on Reddit, you’ve likely said and posted enough stuff that somebody could follow the breadcrumbs back to you. Theyd have to really want to and it would take a lot of reading your posts, but it could probably be done. Anonymity doesn’t exist without a vpn, and even then you’re probably still identifiable. Don’t say, post or do anything on the internet that youre not willing to defend/pay for in real life.

My roku does this shit. Pisses me right off.

(Not OP.) Sucks that you gotta debloat. I want to say it should be opt in for anything thats not basic function, but I think that’s too extreme. Maybe people out there find the web search function super useful, or they appreciate the adverts or whatever.
Anyhoo, even though I debloat everything like crazy from day one, i find myself debloating something new about once a month or so still.
The trick is that so much is tied to our employment, including health care. Wanna start a ruckus and get fired? Cool, you’ll lose your health insurance and the cancer will kill you. It’s not like the company down the street is any better.

Thanks for taking a second to research that. Maybe my search results are skewed for some reason because i double checked before posting that comment. Weird. I’ll think about it more.

Everybody always goes on and on about how great linux is for gaming pcs these days. I recently poked around online to see if my rtx5070ti would be supported and found a bunch of people facing issues, and that Mint and Ubuntu weren’t recommended.
I dont want the AI nonsense, and Windows/Microslop blows, but I want my new gaming laptop to work correctly for several years given the money I spent on it. I can’t see making the switch when the gpu support is so convoluted.
Ive had many Linux machines in the past, so that bums me out.
Edit: someone should make a webpage that automatically reads the hardware and specs of your windows machine and then creates a table of suggested distros. That table should also include “what you’ll lose” that shows which features will become lost or finicky. And it should also include direct download links.
If the goal is to have morons like myself adopt it, it needs to be basically fool proof and easy. Linux is much better and easier than it was in 2003, but that doesn’t mean it’s two-click easy.
“wherever you go, there you are.” I know it’s cliche and yada yada, but distance won’t solve suffering.
