Title was originally “Jucika and the fashion industry”, edited for better translation.
I like that she points to the previous panel
Painting stockings on was normal during wartime.
Also a great way to get the look of a balaclava without that itchy fabric on your face.
Now I’m just imagining a whole genre of racist can-can dancing where people engage in blackleg.
I know it doesn’t need to be a straight translation, but ‘hóbort’ is closer to something like ‘whim’ or ‘fad’ in meaning.
I mean i think it suffices as a translation because you could be pedantic that it means “fashion trend” or “fad”. I guess another translation would be “Jucika and the latest fad”?
Interesting. How would you phrase the whole title then? I’m just using google to detect and translate for me.
Good question. It’s a combination of words that doesn’t make sense to translate directly (unless ‘fashion whim’ sounds naturally English, which I doubt). I guess I would just stick with ‘the new fad’ or something similar - I wish I was better versed in the language (either, to be fair).
* LATEST FAD
Nice! Thanks.
I like it, thanks. Changed the post title.
