  • Read my comment again. “…no alternative available”

Believe me, there are a lot of users that their software needed for their job only works on Windows. It’s not even some Adobe, Office, or generic software that we often hear. These software is hyperly specific that you will only know if you do the job.

Moving to Linux without any actual software equivalent is basically asking them to abandon their jobs.

    1. Non-Westerner that never have or realized alternative platform exist.
    2. Artist that dependant on mainstream social media reach. (some artists already have 100K+ followers there, fedi also have limited reach due to instance blocking, e.g. you’re on Mastodon.art and want to reach Japanese audience (mainly misskey.io, but t was defederated on most of Western instance.)
    3. People with social network bubble outside Westernsphere, they only have exclusively local feed on their Twitter.
    4. People outside Westernsphere that already tried fediverse, but moving back as fediverse is still Western-centric or does not have their own community on feidverse.
    5. Community that does not have monetary power to invest on their own fedi instance.

  • No. Importance of UX simply means advance users can customize their workflow while making it easy to use for casual users.

Kinda like Krita or Blender. Both are not perfect, but the dev are working on it, together with the community.

Even GIMP dev also working on that, they have GIMP UX issue tracker here: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Teams/GIMP/Design/gimp-ux/

“your program should look and behave exactly like this other program made by a corpo, because I’ve learned that one already”

Oftentimes established workflow is already simple. There’s no need to reinvent this from scratch. Example: Npainter and AzPainter are heavily inspired by PaintToolSAI. Inochi Creator is a clone (with unique feature) of Live2D Cubism.
