I agree, but one thing that people always miss with these kinds of rulings is that they generally come with increased oversight and greater fines for repeat offenses. They’re more likely to be caught if they try it again, and it’ll grow until it actually hurts.

Still, this should be a lot larger. They should be trying to dissuade first-time offenses as well, not letting them take advantage of the system for profit because it won’t hurt much when they’re found out.

I have a personal conspiracy theory that part of the AI hype is pushed by dirty energy companies. Most American politicians say we can’t remove dirty energy plants until we have enough clean energy to replace them. AI (and some other technologies) increase energy demand in a way that counters any clean energy production being built, such that the dirty energy production will always be needed unless we’re willing to shut some things down.

Politicians say we can’t scale down production below demand, so dirty energy companies benefit most from inflating demand instead of shutting down and being replaced with clean alternatives.

Not really a lie, just needs to come with a history lesson. The America First Committee was a fascist political group. Once you know that then it makes a lot more sense.

I feel like you’re biased in favor of Nintendo. “They make durable products” while also being infamous for the joysticks drifting. Those don’t seem to gel together. Maybe they’re hard to totally break, but they seem to be fine with selling products that degrade pretty quickly.

That’s not even the biggest issue for me. The $80 games that never get discounted will cost a lot more than that pretty quickly. Plus I know they push their subscription service too.

As a PC gamer, fuck that. I’ll play cheap better games on my free operating system that I actually control on my hardware that I can repair and replace easily. Nintendo games interest me, but not nearly at the price they’re asking for with what they’re offering.

As of yesterday YouTube is blocking videos for me. Until that’s solved, I’m just not watching YouTube. Not a big loss.

I think it started as negligence, but there’s no way they aren’t aware of it now and it’s willful too. At first it happened because they didn’t care, but now it happens because they like the result.

My bet is it’s partially on purpose. They think they can keep you on Windows by doing this, but for me it just ensured I go 100% Linux.

That was probably the right move. I had multiple drives, but only one SSD at the time, and I decided to dual boot with both on that SSD. Long story short, Windows fucked it up, I spent a lot of time recovering things, but Windows was never able to be recovered (I did manage to get Linux Bootable again). I decided to grab anything important off that drive and then just turned it fully into a Linux drive, and ditched Windows completely. It’s been great since.

It’s my understanding this is pretty much a non-issue now. Try a Bootable USB of Garuda Dragonized Gaming (which is an Arch based distro designed for gaming) and test if it works. You’d be surprised at how easy things are.

I hate most math eduction because it’s all about memorizing formulas and rules, and then memorizing exceptions. The user above’s system is easier to learn, because there’s no exceptions or weirdness. You just learn the rule that division is multiplication and subtraction is addition. They’re just written in a different notation. It’s simpler, not more difficult. It just requires being educated on it. Yes, it’s harder if you weren’t obviously, as is everything you weren’t educated on.

Luckily fixing fstab is pretty easy. I’ve broken it twice I think since I started using Linux full time about two years ago, and it’s not really an issue. It takes a few minutes, but if you’re remotely comfortable with the command line it’s pretty trivial to get it booting again.

As everyone else has said, she’s not a child-but-actually-ancient. The show is not about sex. It’s about mortality. I started watching it, and I want to continue, but it’s really depressing. I wasn’t in the right mood to keep going.

As far as I’m aware, there are absolutely no sexual undertones in the show. It’s sometimes funny, but it’s also pretty serious.

I wouldn’t know, but I’d wager that they do feel sexually repulsed by some people though, just based on physical characteristics. Most people don’t desire to have sex with unclean people, for example. It’s just a natural factor of how we evolved, for health, safety, healthy offspring, whatever.

Like you said, it’s never going to stop, and if they destroy access to all the ones who comply with legal requirements then the only ones left available will be the sketchy ones that don’t. I don’t think that’s where you want kids going, so just get the fuck out of the way and let the parents handle it.

As the other comment says, jury nullification isn’t a thing that can easily be removed. The jury doesn’t just claim “jury nullification.” They just state their decision is that the defendant is not guilty. They don’t state why, and we’d only know why they came to that conclusion if they tell us later in interviews or something.

Yes, this. Most devices it just works, and a small minority will work with a little effort. A miniscule number will be like yours. It isn’t representative of the average experience. It’s an outlier.

Out of curiosity, how long ago was this? It very well may have the support now, though if it’s from some manufacturer using proprietary drivers for their webcams, for some crazy stupid reason, then maybe not.

The good news is this isn’t an issue for most people, it was free, and your device was already doing so poorly with Windows you felt it was at the end of its life, so even not working perfectly it still worked.

Edit: Also, Linux isn’t one thing. Your distro may not have included the packages to make those devices work, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. You could have searched for a solution, or perhaps a different distro would work.
